Our Vision At Solid Rock

  • To see Solid Rock as a ministry called alongside parents to help teach & exhort youth to live according to Biblical standards.
  • To see Solid Rock become a sanctuary or safe place for young people who want more of God and want to express their love for Him.
  • To see Solid Rock members become a significant force for change in the community and the schools they represent.
  • To see Solid Rock become a source of growth for the Church. To see individual students become mature believers, involved & serving both within and outside the church.

Is God Working?

Have you ever talked to a friend about your faith or have you lived your faith out in front of your friends only to be disappointed that there's no change in their lives or that nothing is happening as a result?
Have you ever taken a path that you feel God was leading you to take and yet you don't see anything happening?

Isaiah 55:8-9 – God's ways are not our ways
I want to share some personal stories on God working in a situation or relationship:

Michael (brother) – we had several conversations about God and church, some of which were heated. After a period of time and several tries to reach out to him I didn't know what else to do. It took another close friend of his to invite him to church. That's how he came to know Christ.

John 4:35-38 – The sower isn't necessarily the one who brings in the harvest.

Billy (friend) – I did my best to live right in front of him. I stood for what I believed and expressed my faith. He never ended up going to church (although he did visit a few) but he knew that he could ask me anything, and he did. To this day he knows that he can ask me questions on my faith and on God and I will give him an honest answer. I will continue to sow seed into his life at every opportunity.

Acts 1:7 - He told them, "You don't get to know the time. Timing is the Father's business. What you'll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world." (MSG)

Over 10 years ago, God worked through Ashley and her family to get me to come to church. Because of that, as well as the love I received from the Living Word family, I met Christ on a personal level.
The apostle Paul was being prepared long before his conversion. He was a student of the law and a Roman citizen which gave him the ability to take the Gospel all over the Roman Empire. God was working in Paul long before He met him on that road to Damascus. Do you think there may have been Christians who were praying for Paul to stop persecuting Christians? I do.

Ecclesiastes 11:5 - As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Read story from paper if there's time.
** I read story of a man who took a chance and posted some artwork online and through a series of events, he landed his dream job. God is working even when we don't see it.
