Who are you in Christ, what is your Identity?
Identity (noun) - exact likeness in nature or qualities; condition or character as to who a person is
Before you answer that, let’s take a quick look at what the Word says we were…
Before accepting Christ we were criminals, lawbreakers condemned to die separated from God.
Roman’s Road – we see how God has rescued us to a right relationship with Himself

After you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior you are:
- More than conquerors ~ Romans 8:37
- Victorious and Triumphant ~ II Corinthians 2:14
- Righteous ~ II Corinthians 5:21
- Healed ~ II Peter 2:24-25
- Sound Mind ~ II Timothy 1:7
Galatians 2:20 – We have been crucified with Christ
Romans 7:6 – we are new in the spirit
When we accept Christ & that he died for us & was raised again we become identified with Him, we become adopted into the body of Christ.
John 1:12 – We have been given the right to become children of God
II Corinthians 5:17 – New creatures in Christ
I Corinthians 6:17 – We’re one spirit with Christ
Romans 8:1-2 – We are no longer condemned to death
As part of the body of Christ, we can and must relate to the lost and hurting. We must have compassion as Jesus did. However, we must identify with Christ! If we begin to identify ourselves with and get our identity from the lost, we’ll start to lost our true identity as children of God.
You can’t fulfill the high calling that God has placed on your life if you identify with the world around you instead of Christ.
Who are you following?
Who do you identify yourself with?
** this message will be delivered (with a few adjustments) on Monday during the morning session of Summer Scream, please pray for me!!
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name, Amen.
